Terms of Service

Effective date: October 31, 2026.
1. Who we are and what these Terms cover
Fawnzee is an app and website run by Behind the Scenes with Chris LLC, a California limited liability company ("we" or "us"). "You" means the person using the app or website.
Fawnzee helps people plan events in California’s Inland Empire (Riverside and San Bernardino counties). Families and other clients describe an event, set a budget for each kind of vendor they need, and get offers from independent vendors whose prices fit. These Terms apply to everyone who uses the Fawnzee app or website. Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle your information, and our Payment Protection Policy explains how we handle problems with a booking’s payments. Vendors also accept the Vendor Agreement.
2. You must be 18 or older
You must be at least 18 years old to create an account or use the app, and you confirm this when you sign up.
On iPhones that support it, we also ask Apple for the age range your Apple Account shares. We never ask for your birth date. If that age range shows you’re under 18, we close your account right away and delete it after at least 7 days. If it shows you’re under 13, we start deleting your account right away. Our team can’t check ages or lift this: only the age range Apple shares decides it. If we learn in another way that an account belongs to someone under 18, we close it.
3. Your account
You sign in with a code we email you, or with Sign in with Apple. Keep access to your email account safe: anyone who can read your email can sign in as you. You’re responsible for what happens in your account. Tell us at support@fawnzee.com if you think someone else is using it.
4. What Fawnzee does, and what it doesn’t
- Fawnzee is a marketplace. Vendors are independent businesses. They aren’t our employees, agents or partners.
- When you book, the event contract is between you and the vendor. We aren’t a party to it, and we don’t provide the vendor’s services.
- We collect payments only as the vendor’s limited payment collection agent. When you pay for a booking through Fawnzee, your payment satisfies your obligation to the vendor for that amount, as if you had paid the vendor directly, and the vendor can’t ask you to pay it again.
- Your card statement shows our name, not the vendor’s, because we collect the payment for the vendor.
- We hold each booking’s payments, and we may refund them, as your contract, its cancellation policy and our Payment Protection Policy say. We do this for the vendor, under our agreement with the vendor.
- We check some things about vendors (for example, licenses or insurance where a category requires them), but that doesn’t mean we vouch for any vendor’s work, availability or conduct.
- Before you book, you don’t see a vendor’s name until that vendor makes you an offer, and contact details stay hidden until your deposit is paid.
- Nothing in these Terms excuses us from responsibility for our own fraud, our own willful harm or our own violation of the law.
5. Requests, offers and bookings
- You set a budget for each vendor you need. Only vendors whose prices fit the budget, or come close to it, can receive your request.
- A vendor answers with an offer that they sign. Each offer shows its price, what’s included, the deposit and the cancellation policy, and stays open for the time shown on it. A vendor can withdraw an offer until you book it, except while you’re checking out with it.
- When you book an offer, you read and sign the event contract in the app and pay the deposit. If you book on or after the day the balance would be due, you pay the full price when you book.
- We don’t charge clients a fee: the price you agree to is the price you pay.
- The balance is charged to the card you paid with, on the date shown in your contract, before the event. We remind you before that charge unless you book less than 2 days before it, and you can change the card in the app before it’s charged.
- Vendors who receive your request see a short summary of your history on Fawnzee, as our Privacy Policy explains. You can ask us to correct it.
Invites from a vendor you know
A vendor you already know can invite you to book them on Fawnzee with a code. When you accept an invite, you see that vendor’s business name and cover photo before their offer, because the vendor chose to show them to you, and the vendor is told that you accepted. We never contact the person a vendor invites: the vendor shares the code. A booking from an invite works like any other booking, and its review shows "Booked through the vendor’s invite".
6. Payment Protection
Every payment for a booking, the deposit included, stays in the vendor’s own payment account and is paid out to the vendor 48 hours after your event ends, so you can report a problem first. If something goes wrong, the person who booked can report it in the app from the start of the event until 48 hours after it ends, under our Payment Protection Policy. While a report is open, that booking’s payout waits until we decide.
Payment Protection is how we time the vendor’s payout and decide problems with a booking’s payments. It isn’t insurance, and it isn’t a warranty of the vendor’s work.
7. Cancellations, refunds and your bank
- Each booking follows the cancellation policy in its contract. Before you confirm a cancellation, the app shows what you’d get back.
- If a vendor cancels, you get back everything you paid for that booking. Your contract has two exceptions: a vendor may cancel for non-payment when a payment is still unpaid 7 days before the event, and we may decide, from what you both send, that a vendor had to cancel because you seriously broke the contract. Each counts as your own cancellation on that day, and the contract’s cancellation policy decides what you get back.
- If your contract names a lead performer or artist and that person can’t come, the vendor names a substitute in the app. As the client who booked, you can accept or refuse it in the app until the event starts; until you accept, it isn’t agreed. If you refuse, the booking is cancelled as the vendor’s cancellation, and you get back everything you paid. If the vendor tells you another way, you can refuse by writing to us before the event, with the same result.
- Refunds go back to the card you paid with. Your bank usually shows a refund within 5–10 business days. If the charge was very recent, it may simply disappear from your statement instead.
Nothing in these Terms or our policies limits your right to dispute a card charge with your bank. If you do, we may send your bank and the card network, through Stripe, the booking’s contract and signature records, payment and authorization records, the policy in force, the booking’s messages, and any Payment Protection reports about the booking with our decisions on them. We won’t charge you again for a payment your bank decided in your favor. If you get money back twice for the same payment, from us and from your bank, you need to return one of them.
8. Rules for content and behavior
These rules cover everything you post, upload or send in Fawnzee: listings, photos, card headlines, messages, reviews and reports.
Don’t post or send anything that:
- is sexual, shows nudity or sexual acts, or sexualizes anyone (a comedy listing labeled "Adult (18+ crowd)" may use adult language and themes, but never sexual images);
- shares an intimate image of anyone without their consent;
- is hateful, or harasses, threatens or bullies anyone, including because of race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability, age or immigration status;
- shows or encourages violence, illegal drugs or anything illegal;
- is false or misleading, including fake reviews, photos of work that isn’t yours, or prices or services you won’t honor;
- uses someone else’s photos, videos, music, logos or name without the right to use them;
- shares someone’s private information, or anyone’s contact details before a booking;
- is spam or a scam.
Also don’t:
- arrange to pay a vendor outside the app for a booking you started on Fawnzee (you can always book any vendor directly for events you didn’t start here);
- pretend to be someone else, use another person’s account, use bots or scrape the app, or try to get around its security, limits or checks.
How we enforce these rules. A vendor’s listing goes live only after a person on our team approves it. We check listings, photos and card headlines against our listing rules, with automated review (AI) only when the vendor chose it, and anything it flags goes to a person. Anyone can report content or a person using Report in the app where it appears, or by emailing support@fawnzee.com. We aim to act on reports within 24 hours. Anyone, with or without an account, can ask us to remove an intimate image of them that was shared without their consent: email support@fawnzee.com with where it appears, a statement that it was shared without consent, and how to reach you, and we remove it within 48 hours of a valid request. We may remove content, hide a listing, or limit, suspend or close an account. The app tells you when we act, and you can ask us to look at your case again.
Limits after vendors’ reports. Vendors can report a request as fake, as an attempt to work outside the app, or as abusive. If 3 different vendors report your requests within 30 days, the app stops you from sending new requests until a person on our team reviews it, which we aim to do within 2 business days. Any other limit on an account is decided by a person on our team. The Account status screen in the app shows what’s limited and why, and your bookings, their chat and payments, and deleting your account still work. We never tell you who reported you. You can ask us to review a decision once, and we answer within 2 business days.
Blocking. You can block someone from a request or a chat, and clients can block a vendor from the vendor’s listing or photos. After that, requests between the two of you stop, and you stop getting notices of that person’s messages, which show collapsed. Blocking doesn’t change a booking you already have or an offer already sent.
9. Your content
You keep ownership of what you post. You give Behind the Scenes with Chris LLC a non-exclusive, royalty-free permission to store, copy, show and adapt it (for example, to resize photos or remove their location data) in the app, on fawnzee.com and in the contracts, emails and notices the app sends for a booking, and to share it with the service providers that run Fawnzee for us (including the AI review a vendor chooses), only to run Fawnzee.
This permission ends when the content is removed, except for messages in booking chats and problem reports, which we keep as records of the booking for the time the app shows when you delete your account; reviews you wrote, which stay as the app explains then; and copies in our encrypted backups until they’re replaced, within 35 days.
You promise that you have the right to post what you post, including any music, and that it follows these Terms.
Reviews. After an event, the client can review the vendor and the vendor can rate the client. Reviews must be honest and about the booking. We don’t change what a review says, except that we hide contact details and, before a vendor’s offer, the vendor’s name. We take a review down only when it breaks our review rules: for example, it shares contact details or private information, harasses or threatens someone, attacks people for who they are, isn’t about the booking, was written by someone close to the vendor, or is spam. We never take a review down just because it’s negative or because a vendor asks. Nothing in these Terms stops you from posting an honest review anywhere, on Fawnzee or elsewhere.
Copyright. If you think something on Fawnzee uses your work without permission, email support@fawnzee.com with your name and how to reach you; the work you say is being copied; where it appears in Fawnzee; a statement that you believe in good faith that the use isn’t authorized; a statement that your notice is accurate and, under penalty of perjury, that you own the work or may act for its owner; and your signature (typing your full name is enough). If we remove something of yours and you think it was a mistake, email us and tell us why. We close the accounts of people who repeatedly post others’ work without permission.
10. Messages from us
We send you emails and app notifications about your account, requests and bookings. You can choose which notifications you get in the app’s settings, except required notices about your bookings and your account.
Text messages. We text you only when you ask for a phone verification code: we text a one-time code to the number you entered, one text per request. Message and data rates may apply. For help, reply HELP or email support@fawnzee.com. To stop, reply STOP. Carriers aren’t liable for delayed or undelivered messages. Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle your number.
11. Ending your account
You can delete your account in the app (how it works): now, or after your bookings. Delete now isn’t available while something has to finish first, such as an event that has started (until its Payment Protection ends), a cancellation that would cost you money, or a payment, cancellation, card dispute or checkout in progress. The app tells you what, and when a booking is still ahead you can choose Delete after my bookings instead. Deleting now cancels what the app lists and can’t be undone: a booking where you’re the client is cancelled under its cancellation policy, and one where you’re the vendor is refunded to the client in full, as the Vendor Agreement says. The app shows what happens to each one before you confirm. When your account is deleted, we delete your information, except records we must keep by law or need for payments, disputes, fraud prevention and safety, such as signed contracts, signatures and payment records. The app shows each kind and how long it’s kept before you confirm.
We may also limit, suspend or close an account that breaks these Terms, as section 8 explains.
12. Disclaimers and limits
We work to keep Fawnzee running and accurate, but we can’t promise the app will always be available or free of errors. To the extent the law allows, we provide the app as it is.
Vendors are responsible for their own services. We aren’t responsible for what a vendor or a client does or doesn’t do, except for any part we cause ourselves.
- If you use Fawnzee as a client, nothing in these Terms limits the amount we may owe you.
- If you use Fawnzee as a vendor, for your business, our total liability to you for any booking is limited to the fees we received for that booking, to the extent the law allows. This limit doesn’t apply to client payments we receive as your limited payment collection agent: we owe you your share of them, as the Vendor Agreement says.
Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes our responsibility for fraud, for harm we cause on purpose, for violating the law, for injury or death caused by our negligence, or for anything else the law doesn’t allow us to limit. Nothing in these Terms limits rights you have under California law that can’t be waived.
13. Disputes
Tell us first. If you have a problem with us, email support@fawnzee.com with what happened and what you’d like us to do. We’ll answer within 10 business days and try to solve it within 30 days. Nothing here stops you from going to small claims court or using any right the law gives you.
Small claims. You or we may take any dispute that qualifies to small claims court.
Courts. Other disputes with us go to a state or federal court in California, unless the law gives you the right to another court. If you use Fawnzee for personal, family or household reasons, you may bring a case in the county where you live or where you accepted these Terms, and any case we bring against you will be filed there.
No arbitration. These Terms don’t require arbitration, and you don’t give up the right to a jury trial or to join a class action.
Law. California law applies, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Nothing in these Terms limits rights you have under California law that can’t be waived.
Disputes about a booking. Disputes between a client and a vendor are governed by their event contract. We aren’t a party to it, and a Payment Protection decision about the money we still hold doesn’t stop either of them from going to court.
14. Changes to these Terms
When we change these Terms, we publish a new version with its own effective date and permanent address, and the app asks you to accept it before you continue. A change in meaning is always a new version. We may fix a typo or make wording clearer, in English or in the Spanish translation, without changing what a version means. A signed contract keeps the versions it was signed under.
